Prime Minister and Vice President

 

Birgitte Nieuwburg became Prime Minister in April of 2014, after previous Prime Minister Mark Devos was shot in the chest. She was appointed by the Parliament several days after the incident. In Luthionia the offices of Prime Minister and Vice President are held by the same person, making Nieuwburg both. As Prime Minister she is the Head of Government, meaning that she runs the Cabinet and makes important decisions about domestic policy. She is a member of the Luthionian Liberal Democrats, the LLD. As Vice President she can

replace the President in

case of emergency.
